
Craig Cummings, co-founder and general partner at Moonshots Capital, will provide an insightful look into how military and defense-related companies are shaping the economic and development landscape in Austin. About Craig: Craig is Co-Founder and General Partner of Moonshots Capital, an Austin-based venture firm investing in early-stage startups, often led by military veterans or focused on national security technologies. He previously co-founded and exited BTS (defense) and RideScout (mobility).
A former U.S. Army Intelligence Officer with 17 years of service, Craig deployed to Afghanistan with JSOC, earned the Bronze Star, and later taught at West Point. He is a Special Advisor at Capital Factory and advises UT Austin’s Brumlee Institute.
Craig holds degrees from the U.S. Military Academy and Columbia University (Ph.D.). He has been recognized by HillVets, Inc. Magazine, and the Texas Business Hall of Fame. He lives in Austin with his wife and two children.
