Austin Commercial Real Estate Society (ACRES) informally organized in 1979 to unite those engaged in commercial real estate brokerage in the Austin area. This organization was intended to promote the profession and provide education and interaction for those involved in similar pursuits. Since its inception, ACRES has had a Board of Directors that has directed its operations and growth.

The primary activities of ACRES are the monthly programs and networking luncheons. The monthly meetings provide keynote speakers on the latest local economic and political developments as well as enable brokerage transactions through networking.

In 1988, ACRES incorporated and formalized its existence with bylaws and a mission statement. It has operated since that time according to its charter, which has been to promote education and networking among its members.

ACRES members meet each month for a luncheon meeting hosting a guest speaker who provides educational information for those involved in commercial real estate brokerage and development.
